Print Ribbons

Certain types of printers require ribbons to create high definition, quality images. A print ribbon is a spool of ribbon which is used alongside a printer head to transfer ink or toner on to the paper. It can be used to carry a single ink colour or various colours of dye and is commonly found in thermal transfer printers. Using a print ribbon helps to create high resolution images, while the level of accuracy is also higher. For this reason, print ribbons are often used when printing identification documents, such as ID cards, or items which contain barcodes or QR codes.
